Inspired by Lilac season in Santa Fe, NM. While visiting in May I witnessed the beauty of these amazing trees and shrubs in their peak of bloom. This painting was created by layering luscious oil paints, oil sticks, pastels and cold wax on a cradled birch panel. All these elements come together beautifully and then the painting is framed in an antiqued gold float frame.
