Thanksgiving Blessings

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to express my gratitude to all my wonderful collectors and fans across the country.  I am truly blessed to be able to create art that connects with so many.  Thank you for your continued support and encouragement friends.

I wish each of you a most blessed and joy filled Thanksgiving holiday.

Another Good Year

We thank you, Lord, for food and friends
And for all of the joy this holiday lends;
It’s Thanksgiving Day and we can see
The blessings you’ve provided our family.

Thanks to you, Lord, for another good year;
When you watch over us, there’s nothing to fear.

My Favorite Season Will Soon Be Here

Fall is my absolute favorite season of the year, even though I live in a state that doesn't actually experience a true fall season.  I grew up in Southern Maryland and still remember the crisp autumn weather, beautiful foliage, bonfires and hayrides.  After 40 years in FL you'd think I would not get homesick to see the leaves change, but I still do.  So what does a Floridian do when she's missing the change of season?  She paints it.

I may not be able to see the leaves changing, but I can see them in my mind and paint them. Bluebird in Autumn was such fun to paint. This lovely bird brings nature to life in this semi-abstract painting.

Here is another new painting, Hollyhocks and Blue Sky inspired by the heavenly hollyhocks seen reaching for the sky in gardens along Canyon Road in Santa Fe.  They are one of my favorite old time flowers; and, one we cannot grow in FL due to the heat and humidity.  All the more reason I love to paint them.

These new paintings are available in prints, canvas prints, tote bags, pillows, shower curtains and more through my Fine Art America shop. They make a lovely addition to your home for the fall season.

Starting in October I'm going to start a monthly contest where I'll offer one original painting you can bid on.  More details to follow in the next newsletter.  I'm very excited to offer this opportunity to my fans as a way to start an art collection, or add to an existing one.

My new 2016 art calendar is available through Zazzle.  The convenient aspect about Zazzle is that they have customization tools for customers, so you can adapt the year, time schedule, holidays, and sizes to your preferences.  The calendars are available in three sizes.

Just click on the calendar to visit my Zazzle shop for my calendar and other products.

The world puts on its robes of glory now; the very flowers are tinged with deeper dyes; the waves are bluer, and the angels pitch their shining tents along the sunset skies.

Only 140 Days Until Christmas

It's the first week of August and I still cannot figure out where the first half of 2015 has gone friends.  I have been unbelievably busy getting my new passion off the ground.  I can spend all day in my studio painting, but then forget I must market my work as well.  There aren't enough hours in the day.  I'll share what's new since my last newsletter.

"Dream Weaver" was a wonderful surprise for me.  I sat at my easel last week deciding what to paint.  My blue paints seemed to call out to be used, and with no plan my brushes went to work and the result is this lovely, sculptural abstract.  I hope you like it.

"Sunset Over Sangre de Cristo Mountains"  10" x 20" acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas

I'm going through withdrawals from not visiting Santa Fe this summer so I just had to paint "Sunset Over Sangre de Cristo Mountains" as a reminder of how beautiful the mountains and sunsets are in New Mexico. The sunsets are truly magnificent.

"Faith"  10" x 20" acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas

"Faith" was inspired by a birthday party at a dear friends's last week.  She asked me to instruct a painting party at her home for several of our close friends.  My sweet friend chose a cross she wanted everyone to paint (not this one).  I must say everyone did a beautiful job and I really enjoyed teaching them.  After that party I was inspired to paint "Faith" using a palette knife and my favorite colors, the colors of my soul

Mini paintings

Mini paintings

I started a new line of mini paintings as well.  These will be framed with easel backs to make them perfect to place on your nightstand, bookcase or to brighten a garden window.  They also make wonderful gifts.

Thanks so much for taking time to view my latest offerings friends.  And remember, for each new painting there are also other products available with those images.  Tote bags, tee shirts, coffee mugs and much more.  Just visit my Fine Art America shop (click on FAA) to see all the new items.

Have a wonderful weekend and I'll see you again next week.  Thanks so much for your wonderful support and encouragement.  Blessings, Mary
