Artist Statement

I paint with bold colors, the colors of my soul.

I strive to create paintings that speak of the simple beauty existing in everyday life. My abstract art reflects the colors and emotions of the high desert of New Mexico. Incorporating oil paints with cold wax in my process allows me to paint with a unique depth worthy of the captivating landscapes of Northern New Mexico. This sacred place calls to my soul and opens a space for my art to be a true reflection of my free spirit and enthusiasm for life.

Santa Fe, New Mexico is my second home. I spend several months each year in a charming, historic casita just off Canyon Road where I plan my adventures and paint the colors of my soul. Back in my Florida studio the many images captured on camera help me record, connect and reflect on special memories and form the inspiration for future paintings. As an abstract expressionist painter, I allow my intuitive artistic process to evolve with each new work.

New Mexico’s treasures include its many natural resources from majestic mountains, rivers and skies painted with highly saturated hues to the beautiful simplicity of a turquoise stone. Not only is turquoise a constant staple in my wardrobe, but you will also find the color turquoise in many of my paintings. It is my hope my art will shine a light on the landscapes, cultures and ambience that make New Mexico so remarkable.
