Blue Thread unfolds in layers of warm earth tones, sweeping forms, and a vivid ribbon of turquoise that moves through the composition like a current. Inspired by the colors and expansive landscape of Northern New Mexico, the painting balances bold movement with moments of quiet and openness.
Rich texture and expressive marks reveal the physical process of working with oil and wax, while the unexpected blue creates a visual thread connecting one passage of the landscape to another. Rather than depicting a specific place, Blue Thread is rooted in memory and feeling—a landscape remembered, reshaped and made personal.
