Summer in Santa Fe

Hello friends. I’ve said this before but I can’t believe how quickly this year is moving. My 2022 goal was to do better communicating with my art blog. I have fallen behind again in that effort, but I am happy to report I have been creating this summer.

I have spent the past three months in my happy place, Santa Fe, NM. I’ve visited dozens of art galleries and museums, attended art fairs and met some amazing new artist friends. When I’m not doing these things I’m in my casita painting, seeing the beautiful sites, or spending precious time with good friends here in Santa Fe.

I finished eight new paintings of varying sizes this visit. I look forward to getting them photographed and added to my website soon. Working on the logistics of getting them home now. Here are just a couple pics of a few of the paintings in progress.

One of the most beautiful places in Northern New Mexico, in my humble opinion, is the area surrounding Rio Chama Valley near Ghost Ranch. Georgia O’Keeffe loved and lived in this area. I return every time I’m in Santa Fe. The area is beautiful in any season.

Thank you for following along on my journey friends. Your support truly means the world to me. I hope you’ve enjoyed this little visit to my happy place. If you’d like to view more of my artwork, please click the button below.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother’s Day friends. I’m still trying to wrap my head around how quickly this year is moving. Trips around the sun seem to move faster after you pass 60. I’ve already fallen behind my goal to stay in touch via newsletter and I apologize. I’m still working on better communications skills.

It has been a busy time in my studio and I’m happy to share I’ll have some beautiful new artwork available for you soon. I’ll share a few work in progress peeks for now. Spring colors have taken over my palette. Hope you’ll enjoy them too.

Do you enjoy listening to podcasts? Do you have a favorite podcast? I’m happy to say I was a guest this week on my friend Bunny Terry’s Lifesaving Gratitude podcast. Hope you’ll give it a listen friends and subscribe to the Lifesaving Gratitude podcast. Bunny invited me to tell the story of how I became an artist. Just click below to

"Our lives truly can be a work of art, and no one knows that better than our guest on this episode, Mary Mirabal. Mary took the brave and inspiring step to become an artist in her 50’s after a long career in a completely different field. By following her passion, Mary has found joy and excitement (and a new favorite city!) that she might never have known before. With the support of her husband and family, Mary is following her dream and turning her life into the master piece it should be! We love Mary and we know you will too.”

I want to thank Bunny for inviting me to participate. This is the first time I’ve been a guest…which was somewhat scary as I’m much more comfortable creating the art instead of talking about it. Thankfully, Bunny made it so easy and I had a great time.

I’ll keep this communique short and sweet. Thank you so much for your continued support and friendship. My life is so blessed because of collectors, fans and friends like you. Please feel free to contact me anytime you have questions about my artwork. Just hit this button below to reach me.

With only a few more weeks left in 2020 I wanted to take time to say how grateful I am to have such wonderful fans and collectors of my art. Your support means the world to me, especially during the challenging times we’ve had this year. It has been a difficult time for everyone and you’ve been in my thoughts and prayers.

I’m looking forward to a renewed faith going into 2021 So many events had to be cancelled or postponed this year. Hoping we can get back to actual live art openings and exhibitions in 2021. I also want to thank the galleries that represent me. It has been a most challenging year for them as well. Thank you to Hat Ranch Gallery and Turquoise Butterfly Gallery in Santa Fe, NM; and Sloan Home in Atlanta, GA. And, in Tampa a big thanks to Dwell Home.

Art is one thing we can count on to always be with us. Art can brighten up a room and a mood. Art brings reminders of places and people that are dear to our hearts. I have found comfort this year in the artwork decorating our home.

The end of the year is a time of year for remembrance. We take stock of where we came from, and have a moment to think about where we are going, as we pursue the future with hope. May your new year be all that you hope for, and may it be sprinkled with love and friendship. Happy Holidays!

Blessings from your artist friend, Mary
