Hello March

Birds are chirping, flowers are growing & beauty is in bloom.

Spring has sprung and we're here to help your spring season be full of hope, life and new beginnings.  It's such a natural time to paint flowers. Here are a just few of mine.  There is something sprouting for everyone.

February is still a blur for me.  How 'bout you?  This month is starting off to be another busy one with preparation for upcoming exhibits and shows.  Spring is always a busy time for art shows in Florida.  (We try to stay indoors during the dog days of summer.)

I love helping people add art to their lives.  Did you know I offer a convenient layaway art plan?  Just send me a message if there's a piece you'd like me to hold for you.  I am very happy to do this.

February's "Steal of the Month" winner was Pamela Wilson. Thank you so much Pamela.  Restless Ranunculus will be on its way to you.  I'll select a new painting for March and send out another announcement in the next day or so.  A great, affordable way to start or add to your art collection.

Thanks as always for your support and encouragement.  I am so blessed to be able to do what I love.  I hope you'll continue to enjoy my art and share it with your friends.

Many blessings,  Mary

The air is like a butterfly
With frail blue wings.
The happy earth looks at the sky
And sings.

November Steal of the Month

This is the second month of the "Steal of  the Month".  This month I'm pleased to offer "Hollyhocks and Blue Window".  This painting was completed last fall following a visit to the beautiful Santa Fe area. Hollyhocks are one of my favorite flowers to paint, and the Canyon Road area of Santa Fe abounds with them throughout the summer.

I'd love to see this sweet painting find a loving home, and it can be yours friends.

Congratulations to Marilyn F. for being the winner of the October "Steal of the Month", a two piece painting entitled "Mary's Garden".

My favourite flower, if you’ll pardon,
Is standing stately in my garden,
And it’s so tall it must have props.
  They lend support to hollyhocks.

They’re tall, graceful and so proud.
The wind’s blown one; it’s sadly bowed.
  They come in lovely pastel shades;
It’s unfortunate that they ever fade.

Before you cut them down, you’ll find
So many seeds are left behind,
And if you plant them, they will grow.
Next year you’ll have another show.

Painting Angels

If you've been following my blog friends, you probably know I've only been painting for about a year now.  And. before this month not one angel on canvas.  If you've been to my home you will see angels and cherubs both inside and outside in my garden.  I am a believer in angels since learning about my very own guardian angel when I was a child.  I'm not sure why it took me so long to paint one.  Perhaps it was the anniversary of my dearest friend's birthday earlier this month that prompted my need to paint angels.  You see, my best friend in the world was called to heaven several years ago and I still miss her every day.

On Angel Wings was painted in memory of my sweet friend.  She was an angel in life, and no doubt is one now that she is in heaven.

Prints of On Angel Wings are available through my Fine Art America shop. Simply click HERE to visit my shop for additional information on this painting.  It is available in prints, throw pillows, tote bags, shower curtains and MORE.

Tranquility is the second angel I've painted this month.  She is also available as prints and more through Fine Art America.  Click HERE for more information.  Very simple, sweet and monochromatic to fit all decors.

The first angel I painted is Guardian Angel.  Her outstretched wings remind me that I am always protected.  You can find Guardian Angel at Fine Art America.

Here I stand at a crossroads, wondering which way I should go. I ask for a sign, but in my heart , I believe I already know. Intuition? Inspiration? No. My angel told me so.
